On the heels of the biggest shopping week of the year, where feeds will flood with door-crasher deals + gift guides (which, no doubt we love and certainly some of those delights will make their way under our tree), we love sharing more than just top trends and must-haves, but some fantastic gift ideas for the whole family you may not have thought of, that not only support Canadian shops but have a portion of proceeds going to support important causes and initiatives that make a positive impact on the lives of others. Gifts that, essentially, make the holidays count for more. Purposeful gifting not only uplifts the receiver but has a ripple effect of touching lives through the causes they support captures the true spirit of the season.

TOQUES FROM THE HEART
Toques From The Heart is a Canadian small business started by three McMaster University Business students who wanted to use their knowledge to create a positive change in their communities. They sell unique hockey sock style toques that when purchased allow them to donate toque made out of repurposed hockey socks. Their goal is to get a toque to every Canadian experiencing homelessness and they cannot wait to get as many toques given away as possible to ensure that more people can stay warm this winter by having a toque from the heart of their own.
